Weddings + Elopements

There are so many different ways to get hitched.

traditional weddings | adventure elopements | elopements | micro weddings | intimate weddings

Can't decide which or where to start? Let me help!

TRADITIONAL WEDDING: All the bells and whistles. ALL friends and family are invited. Florals, decor, open bar, caterers, DJ, venue, and favors for the guests. Meticulously planned day with a tight schedule. After photographing traditional weddings for years I've noticed the same things over and over. The couple spends all day rushing from one event to the next and if the smallest thing is delayed (which ALWAYS happens) everyone is thrown into a stress induced frenzy to play catch up.  Couples might not even get 30 minutes alone on their wedding day and most of the time that's just for their portraits.

ELOPEMENT: These can be called either an adventure elopement or just an elopement. The adventure part is usually if you're taking part in an adventurous activity outdoors like hiking, kayaking, or just exploring to get to a scenic area. That being said you don't always have to do these in the wilderness. Go to the courthouse and then take some photos at your favorite places in town or dress to the nines, run away to Vegas and get married by Elvis! That's the beauty of an elopement! It can be whatever YOU want it to be. These typically include just the couple, officiant, and whoever is documenting it. Elopements are extremely low stress with all the focus being on you and your partner and telling the story of your day documentary style. The privacy allows you to have some beautiful intimate moments and getting to be emotionally present the entire day.

INTIMATE + MICRO WEDDINGS: Cutting down the guest list to about 25 of your closest and having a small gathering. This minimizes the cost and stress of your day while still getting to include your loved ones. A lot of couples find a cabin or AirBnb to host a small ceremony and reception. You can run away to a beautiful location for your vows and photos then come back to celebrate with the people you choose. This is the best compromise between a traditional wedding and an elopement. You still get to send invitations, do some decor, and party the night away. Just on a much smaller and more budget friendly scale.
